One maker, several distinct moods
HALBE Rahmen has an extensive catalogue of magnetic frames in different materials and colours. Since they’re magnetic, it is very easy to switch the artwork and mat (passe-partout) inside. Additionally, Halbe Rahmen gives you choice between different types of glass and acrylic to cover your artwork. Their mats are also fully customisable. Halbe Rahmen is for sure a premium brand, but the quality is undeniable. Their frames share a restrained, architectural character, but by mixing them up you can create very organic looks. For instance, Classic Alu 8 draws a fine dark or silver line around the art. Classic Holz 20 has more visual weight and introduces oak, maple or walnut. Distance profiles add depth without demanding a decorative rail.
Make the mat part of the composition
Most HALBE frames are ordered without an out-of-the-box mat, which is not a limitation here. It is the reason these arrangements can change character while the outer frames stay the same or similar. A 20 mm border feels direct and contemporary; 60 to 90 mm of breathing room (by adding a mat/passe-partout) turns a small artwork into a more deliberate object.
Use the walnut grid design below if you want to see this at its most controlled: every outer frame matches, but the artwork openings alternate through different mats. In the nine-frame layout, the same idea becomes looser. One print runs almost to the rail, another sits inside a deep 90 mm border, and the eye moves between them rather than reading a rigid set.
Check the order size and the outside size
Before ordering, distinguish the nominal picture size from the frame’s total footprint. A HALBE 40 × 50 cm model occupies slightly more wall once the profile is included. Our tool already indicates the outer dimensions, The editable templates in our tool already use those outer catalog dimensions (but please confirm via Halbe Rahmen or your store of choice before purchasing). You can therefore test real gaps, overall composition width and clearance above the sofa before drilling.
