Nielsen is easy to reduce to a thin aluminium profile, but the catalog is broader than that. Alpha is quiet and precise. C2 has enough finish options to carry colour. Pixel makes small formats feel crisp, while Classic brings a slightly more traditional metallic line. Accent can lean polished and decorative, and Quadrum introduces the warmth of wood.

Let the mat change the pace
Since most of the Nielsen frames arrive without a fixed mat (passe-partout), you have full control over this element of your composition. A print that nearly reaches the rail feels immediate. The same print behind a 60 or 90 mm mat becomes quieter and more object-like. You can create hierarchy without making every outer frame a different size.
Match the arrangement to the architecture
The most convincing gallery wall is not simply centred on the wall. It responds to the room. The carved red panel in the red interior acts like a frame around the frames. The blue sofa shares its wall with a sideboard, so the quartet bridges both pieces rather than pretending the sofa stands alone. Above the bed, the five-frame crown follows the headboard and leaves a calm gap before the lamps.
Check the named size and the real footprint
Nielsen frame names generally refer to the picture or order size. The outside dimensions include the profile, so a nominal 50 × 70 cm frame occupies a little more wall. Each editable template uses the catalogued outer measurements for spacing and overall width.
